Product evolution
An identity, taking shape.
From a place for a person to a view you control.
January–October 2026 · Retained design and product history.
Origins
Design record
A place for a person
Given and earned identity gathered around one person.
Technical detail & source
The earliest retained README describes ~Identity as a boundary object. This is historical terminology, before the current Wellbeing Identity protocol.

An identity that can change
Roots, skills, values, story and state became connected chapters.
Technical detail & source
The v0.1.7 canonical-layers paper formalized ~WellbeingIdentity as living state and locked the protocol hierarchy. Later schemas refined the document and disclosure contract.

A public view
Product update
A profile you can open
The identity moved from a design document to a web page.
Technical detail & source
Foundation introduced human-facing Wellbeing Identity profiles. This records the implementation date, not proof that every historical version was deployed that day.

You choose what is shared
Public sharing became a deliberate choice, down to individual details.
Technical detail & source
Granular public-identity consent separated identity formation from publication. Completion does not require disclosure. The owner can withhold or revoke a public view.

A view that can move
An optional, experimental wellbeing reading joined the profile.
Technical detail & source
The Pilot W projection was explicitly experimental and separately consented. It remains a historical ledger, separate from the later issuer-specific Founder WellbeingScore.

One home for your choices
Identity home controls sharing. The public site shows that selection.
Technical detail & source
Foundation switched to Word Wallet's minimized owner-approved projection. Spec supplies canonical values, Word Wallet owns authentication and disclosure, and Foundation presents the public response.

Updates keep your choices
Updating your identity no longer means resetting what you share.
Technical detail & source
Active signed imports and rollback became separate from owner disclosure. Importing or restoring identity values must not reset public/private switches.

A starting point with a history
A starting point became separate from the changes that follow.
Technical detail & source
Genesis describes constituted baseline formation before daily movement. Identity nodes inform consented evidence; they are not extra score components or prestige points. Community policy owns the experimental numerical model.

Wellbeing and skills, side by side
Wellbeing movement and community recognition gained separate readings.
Technical detail & source
The public page distinguishes dated Founder state, community recognition and Legacy Pilot W. It does not combine wellbeing, skill levels and contribution into a human ranking.

Context
Product update
Evidence gets its context
Open a ring. Read the story. Follow its source. Return to the map.
Technical detail & source
Mobile modal readings preserve map position. Structured values and complete lists remain readable; safe sources work across rings. The existing Identity home adds separate private context drafts and reviewed publication. Renderer 0.2.5 and contracts 0.1.4 are coordinated through a checked release manifest. A code release does not publish an owner's draft.

The identity keeps evolving. What you share remains your choice.

Dates come from retained specification and application commits. A source date records when a design or implementation entered that history; it is not a claim that every version was deployed on that day. No private identity values or account history are shown.
Current protocol truth remains with the IoV Spec. The release manifest coordinates application versions; it does not redefine protocol meaning.
