Why Explorer Remained Independent

The deliberate boundary that preserves a native person-form, facet-dot teaching scene.

Explorer remains semantically aligned with the eight-node model but intentionally independent of the shared production renderer. Its native person-form, changing node points, facet dots, chapter sequencing, and protocol animation teach the model; they do not render an owner or public identity projection.

An early attempt to make Explorer consume the shared portrait clarified the boundary by crossing it. The scene became visually more uniform, but its teaching-specific person form and changing node points disappeared. That was a signal that reuse had exceeded its legitimate purpose.

Independence is a successful boundary decision

Explorer has a different responsibility from Value Log Profile, Replay, and Foundation. It needs choreography: chapter movement, facet dots, explanatory captions, and a person-form whose visual state helps a reader understand the model. A private profile needs reliable inspection of owner-authorised information. A public profile needs minimal disclosure. Replay needs faithful reading of a completed sequence. One implementation cannot be judged by all four purposes at once.

Independence does not mean arbitrary divergence. Explorer retains the canonical node names and semantic order. It may use a distinct pedagogical treatment because no personal projection is at stake. The renderer remains the visual reference for production portrait interaction; Explorer remains the educational reference for how the model can be explored.

This reversal is worth documenting because it demonstrates a mature integration decision: a boundary is successful when the system can say “no” to reuse that would reduce clarity or expand coupling.
